Vietnam Film series at Asia Society - starts March 3

Co-sponsored by the Asia Society, IVCE, Embassy of Vietnam, and Vietnam Cinema Department - the Vietnam Film series features 5 new films: a hamlet's haunting tale Me Thao Thoi Vang Bong (Glorious Time in Me Thao Hamlet, 2002), an enduring post-war tale Doi Cat (Sand Life, 1999), a realistic satirical tale Vua Bai Rac (King of Rubbish Dumps, 2002), a social tragicomedy Cua Roi (Lost and Found, 2003), and a breathtakingly beautiful Hmong highland Thung Lung Hoang Vang (Deserted Valley, 2002).

Director Dang Nhut Minh from Vietnam will be present for a Vietnamese film panel on Sunday, March 12 at 4:30 PM at Asia Society. The panel will also include Dr. Ngo Thanh Nhan (New York University) and Dr. Kim Worthy (Wagner College).
