Rodney Dickson at the Roger Smith Gallery

Our friend, Rodney Dickson, has a series of paintings entitled Close to Paradise in the lobby of the Roger Smith Gallery until June. A brief text from him:

The paintings in the show are all of flowers, painted over a base of Elmer’s glue on canvas. The flowers are memorials to the suffering of the human race as well as a symbol of hope for a better future. Together they form an installation designed to create a contemplative calm. The beauty and sensitivity of the paint handling lends a feeling of hope, and the total environment is in fact a testament to the beauty of life.
